Title; “Nature” by Ralph Waldo Emerson
Nature by Ralph Waldo Emerson
In 1836, Ralph Waldo Emerson first published his book Nature. His lectures, sermons, and journals served as vital reference sources. James Monroe and Company, located in Boston, was the first publisher of the long essay in September of 1836. Later, in December of 1849, the company published a new edition of the book where Emerson paid for the printing according to his agreement with James Monroe and Company. The book not only succeeded to promote transcendentalism but also had a significant influence on the definition of the American identity (Gura 92).
