The Issue section of the presentation asks you to define the wellness issue that your presentation addresses. You will describe how the issue relates to wellness, who is affected by the problem, how the issue relates to concepts from the course, how the issue impacts the people affected by it, and also discuss the prognosis for your problem. Is it likely to change in the future? Like the Introduction section, you will be graded on whether or not you have included each of the required elements.
This section of the presentation tends to be a bit easier for students; however, there are still a few things to keep in mind. First, as you describe the problem, please be sure to connect it to wellness. You can do this by connecting it to ideas from the course or by looking at how wellness is impacted as a result of your problem. For example, if your topic is schizophrenia you might look at social problems, financial problems, emotional problems, etc. that the individual might face as a result of the problem. As you describe the target population, please be sure to include some demographics. For example, what age, gender, or race might be most likely to be affected by schizophrenia? Finally, don’t forget to include a prediction for the future about your issue. For example, you might predict that we will find a cure for schizophrenia and this will no longer be a problem that influences people after introduction.
