We should keep on track of each product’s performance, make records to check if there is anything need to be improved to meet quality standard.According to The National DPP, “Quality metrics help ensure that organizational efforts at improving quality and decreasing costs are showing efficacy as determined by the measurement guidance.” Using right method will help us working more efficiently.

Quality Improvement Plan

The Quality Improvement Plan aim to help Fox Islands Wind LLC developing, monitoring, evaluating quality improvement activities to improve product performance, services, and have a better control on quality. Our Quality Improvement program will be following three key principles:

  • Focus on quality control
  • Focus on safety control
  • Focus on better services

Quality Improvement Goal Statement:

Complete the Fox Wind Islands Project by November 2009, deliver with good quality service, lower electricity prices, and lower turbines’ noise. In order to achieve our goals and contribute to community, we will fix problems and make sustainable improvement.

Tools to achieve the goal:

  • Design a quality tool to achieve control of product and service quality, Statistical Process Control (SPC) would be a good choice to maintain stability in the process. According to the PMBOK, “SPC is essentially a quality assurance tool using monitoring techniques and statistics to study process stability – a process-oriented tool”. Using SPC can reduce operating cost, increase productivity and build customer loyalty.
  • Training employees to be more efficiency and hire more high-quality workers to have better understand of the wind technology, so the project will be working more smoothly. Stakeholders also need a better communication plan to reduce misunderstanding and achieve the goal.
  • Improve customer satisfaction is the key to keep long-term relationship. Do more surveys to get feedback will get better ideas what customers want and need, we will also need to make evaluation during each period to make improvement. Strategies and method can be change depends on different situation and purpose. Balance customer’s need and company’s needs would be critical to the project.
